Who we are

A trust named after the tree that gives

In Indian tradition the kalpavruksha is the wish-fulfilling tree: it shelters, feeds and asks for nothing back. Our trust was formed with the same idea, to be a source of steady support for people who need it most.

Our main work is medical relief for people living with brain injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injury. Alongside this we support students in their education and nurture young sporting talent.

We have worked closely with the All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Haji Ali, Worli, since the day we began.

Objects of the Trust

1. General public utility

To undertake and discharge objects in the nature of relief of the poor, promotion of educational, medical, cultural, sports and other objects of general public utility as are deemed charitable purpose under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

2. Other charitable objects

To discharge such other objects which are deemed to be charitable under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
